Seven women, including a girl, collectively donate their hair to cancer patients
Each donated approximately 12 inches of their hair for making wigs for cancer patients and helped them live with dignity
Request others to come forward and join this noble cause
Seven women, including a young girl studying in standard 9, donated their hair to cancer patients in Vadodara. Despite coming from different backgrounds, they came together to help the patients maintain their dignity and bring a smile to their faces. Each of them donated approximately 12 inches of their beautiful hair, which will be used to make wigs for cancer patients.
Among the donors, Padma Vala and Kailash Bedava, who were housewives, Hansaben Khuman, a teacher from Surat, Ankita Gohel, a pharmacist from Vadodara, Ishika Dabhi, a doctor from Surat, Kashish Rathod, a student from Vadodara, and Nikita Bathwar, a pistol shooter from Vadodara, donated their hair on the occasion of her mother’s birth anniversary. These seven women gathered at one place and donated their hair to the Vadodara Hair Donation, an NGO working for the benefit of cancer patients.
“We all gathered here for a noble cause—to help cancer patients. After learning about the gesture behind this, I travelled all the way from Surat and donated my hair through the Vadodara Hair Donation. I humbly appeal to everyone to come forward and join me in this cause,” said Ishika Dabhi.
Soni Sandeep Gosai, a professional makeup artist, is helping the NGO in the collection of hair from donors. She is providing her services free of cost. “My mother was a cancer patient, and I saw the pain she felt during the treatment very closely. During chemotherapy, the female patients sometimes went into depression because of the loss of their beautiful hair. We here try to bring smiles to their faces by making wigs for them, which helps them get out of that depression. I came into contact with the NGO three years ago and have been helping them in getting hair from donors since then. I provide the service in my salon and sometimes in hospitals too. This is the first time I have attended to seven women at once who came to me for hair donation. This work gives me mental peace, and I am privileged to be associated with such a noble cause,” said Soni.
