The 221st Swaminarayan Mahamantra Jayanti was celebrated with great gaiety in Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi managed by Shri Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan under the leadership of Gnanmahodadhi Acharya Shri Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj.

On this occasion, Acharya of Shri Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan, Gnanmahodadhi Shri Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj said in divine blessings that 221 years ago today, Sahajananda Swami gave the name “Swaminarayan” to his sants and Haribhaktas in Faneni village on Magshar Vad Ekadashi – Safla Agiyaras in the year 1958. Since then this sect came to be known as “Swaminarayan sect”.

And after that, Sahajananda Swami was also known as Shri Swaminarayan Bhagwan in the world. Hence this Magashar Vad Ekadashi is a very auspicious day in the Swaminarayan Sect and celebrated by devotees all over the world. Ghosts are destroyed by simply chanting this Swaminarayan mantra.

This mantra frees one from all his worries. One who chants the Swaminarayan mantra attains happiness in this world and thereafter. Lord Swaminarayan gives darshan to the one who chants this mantra in his Akshardham.

Also, today at the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi, the Acharya of Sri Swaminarayan Gadi, Shri Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj, was joined by the Africans here singing the tune of “Swaminarayan” Mahamantra and clapping their hands. Sants and devotees from home and abroad received the divine benefit of this auspicious occasion.
