The ashes of Acharya Purushottampriyadasji were cremated in Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world.

Lake Victoria is the largest freshwater lake in Africa and the second largest freshwater lake in the world. The countries of Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya border the lake.

On this memorable day of laying the ashes of Vedaratna Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj many Swaminarayan hymns and tunes were played and sung to praise the memories left behind by Vedaratna Acharya Shree Purushottampriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj.
The ashes were laid in the lake by his successor, Shree Swaminarayan Gadi’s Acharya Gnanmohadadhi Param Poojya Shree Jitendriyapriyadasji Swamiji Maharaj and other Saints and devotees. During the occasion Aarti and poojan of the ashes was also performed.
